Charged for nothing

I applied for an iPhone 6 Plus with etisalat in January, but till now, I have not received it. Now, they are saying that the total amount due is around Dh1,700. I don’t know what this is for. I have complained so many times to etisalat regarding this issue, and told them to cancel my application and waive all the charges, as I have not used any service, but no one is helping me. It’s been almost five months now, since I made the first complaint, but it’s still pending. Please, can Gulf News help me in this issue?

From Mr Mohammad Rais Quraishi

Abu Dhabi

The management of etisalat responds:

The case has been resolved and is now closed.

The complaint in brief: The customer was charged for the device and package, while the device and Sim hadn’t been delivered to the customer.

The final outcome:

1. Dh4,225 has been refunded.

2. The amount will be reflected in the next bill.

3. The online due is showing ‘zero’ now.

4. The customer has been contacted, updated and he is satisfied.

Mr Quraishi responds:

Thank you Gulf News, for the support. Without the newspaper’s help, it would not have been possible to resolve this complaint. I received a call from etisalat 101 on July 8; they confirmed that my complaint has been resolved and they have refunded the amount of Dh4,225, but this will reflect in the next bill.

(Process initiation: July 2. Response from organisation: July 9. Reader confirmation: July 12.)
