DUBAI: After launching the world’s most expensive abaya and shoes UK fashion designer Debbie Wingham is all set to unveil the world’s most expensive cake, complete with ‘edible diamonds and pearls’ at the upcoming Bride Show in Dubai this weekend.

Being prepared in collaboration with Raffles Hotel, the cake is likely to be priced at one million dollars (Dh3.67 million), according to Wingham’s Instagram post earlier this month.

“2,000 cream flowers and 1,000 edible pearls have been added so far. All will be revealed at the Bride show,” said Wingham whose handmade ‘gold and platinum’ shoes fetched Dh55 million in Dubai last year. Over 200 exhibitors from different parts of the world will take part in the four-day event which runs at the World Trade Centre until February 10.

VIP Lounge

A new attraction this year is a VIP Lounge set up by the Vienna Tourism Board where would-be- brides can unwind and enjoy an afternoon tea or mocktails with their friends in an exclusive area.

Photography workshop

Another highlight is a photography workshop where renowned photographer Nicholas Tohme will offer tips on how to strike the perfect pose during wedding shoots.

Jewellery zone

But the Jewellery Zone remains the biggest draw with more than 50 exhibitors showcasing the latest designs in gold and diamond jewellery.

Mobile saloon

Those looking for a quick pampering session may want to visit Tips and Toes’ mobile saloon which is offering a wide range of beauty treatments.

Honeymooners galore

There is a dedicated area called Honeymooners Galore where honeymooners can pick from a variety of dream destination deals.

Be a lucky bride

Prospective brides can enter the Lucky Bride 2018 draw where they stand a chance to win a bridal package worth Dh100,000. The package includes almost every bridal requirement from a designer wedding gown, to a professional makeup artist and even a lavish honeymoon package.
