Dubai: For children ages four to 16 this could be their busiest summer yet as Dubai Sports World (DSW) - the region’s largest indoor sports venue – lines up a host of indoor Summer Camps in partnership with several UAE sports academies.

“With four successful summers under our belts, we wanted to celebrate this year’s fifth anniversary of Dubai Sports World by significantly expanding our Summer Camps offering,” said Ahmad Al Khaja, Senior Vice President, Venues, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

“Diversity has always been one of our main assets and we’ve enriched that diversity even further for 2015 via the loyal support of our historical academy partners and an exciting batch of new extreme sports providers.”

Extreme thrills

So in addition to dedicated summer camps for popular sports such as football, basketball, cricket and tennis, the landmark fifth anniversary of DSW will also boast an exciting new collection of extreme sports clinics. These include a Parkour course by Against GraviTi, Wire World Adventure Parks and the Skateboarding and BMX Park by RAGE.

For the fifth consecutive year, DSW will, however, also run a renowned IFA football coaching programme, conducted by English FA and UEFA qualified coaches, supervised by former Premier League and England U-21 player, Dale Gordon.

Two-time African Footballer of the Year winner Frederic Kanoute will also be bringing his highly-qualified team of coaches back to this year’s DSW with the KAFO Academy.

Courtside, the IFA Basketball Academy will be back for a third consecutive year with an aim to develop and enhance individual skills including shooting and dribbling, passing and team play, and tactical knowledge of offence and defence. The sessions will be run by Ishmael Awange, who played professionally in the USA and China and owns an NCCA Championship ring.

Cricket wise, there’s an exciting schedule of professional coaching clinics, tournaments and celebrity sessions as G Force Cricket Academy run by former first class cricketer Gopal Jasapara is back for the third consecutive year as well.

Meanwhile Tennis 360 – an ever-present at DSW - will hold a Cardio Tennis Clinic involving aerobic drills, ball striking and TRX exercises, as well as a dedicated Ramadan Tennis Clinic with one of the academy’s leading coaches.

All DSW summer camps and academy classes are held in the 22,000 square metre, fully air-conditioned, indoor venue at DWTC. Open daily between 8am and midnight from June 21 to August 29, DSW closes at 1am. An Early Bird discount is available on all DSW Summer Camps booked through the respective academy provider by Monday June 15.
