The trio is back.

Tamil director M. Rajesh and actors Santhanam and Arya, who tickled viewers in their last film together, Boss Engira Bhaskiran, are back.

Rajesh, known for his long film titles, calls his fourth film, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavangu (Vasu and Saravanan studied together). Vasu and Saravanan are school mates and close buddies.

“The story celebrates their friendship,” said Rajesh, “until Saravanan falls in love.”

What can happen in the lives of two childhood friends when a woman enters their lives? How does this affect their friendship?

Based on this premise, Rajesh has written the script with Tamannah playing Arya’s onscreen lover.

“Tamannah plays a bubbly woman, Aishwarya. It’s a role that she has not explored in Tamil,” continued Rajesh, who quit an IT career in Mumbai to follow his passion for films. After assisting Tamil directors Ameer and S.A. Chandrashekar, Rajesh made his first film, Siva Manasula Shakthi, which was a commercial success. It was remade in Telugu. VSOP is his fourth film.

Rajesh added that VSOP will connect with everyone as it has drawn instances from his life and of people around. Making the film with his close friends, Arya and Santhanam, was fun and didn’t feel like work. Praising Santhanam, he said the actor’s potential has not been fully explored.

The supporting cast includes Karunakaran, Vidhyulekha Raman and Siddharth Vipin. D. Imman has composed music. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer.

Produced by Arya, The Show People, in association with Prasad V. Potluri, this romantic comedy releases in UAE on August 14.
