Do you enjoy making people laugh? Were you that class joker who could have people gurgling over your antics? Well, perhaps it’s time to revive that inner comic.
On December 14-16, The Junction, Alserkal Avenue is turning the spotlight on all things funny. The Short+Sweet Comedy Festival, free to enter and open to everyone, is all about you, your brand of humour and its appeal. The audience decides what your routine — you have five minutes on stage per act — counts for, and there are judges to choose the funniest of the lot.
The rules are simple: Each performer gets a maximum of two acts, which can be a mix of a stand-up routine, group act, improve sketch or music and poetry. Only those above 12 years of age can apply. And there are prizes and trophies to be won. For registrations, call 055-5406936.
Tickets to see the show are Dh40 (for December 14-15) and Dh80 for the final gala.
