The Polish National Opera is bringing classic tales of love and loss to Dubai next year.

The tragic tale of forbidden love Aida, composed by Giuseppe Verdi, runs from February 14-17, 2018, at Dubai Opera. The story follows the struggle and heartache between Nubian princess, Aida, and the Egyptian warrior Radames, told in Italian with English surtitles.

Then comes Eugene Onegin, on February 22-23, a story that is steeped in love, but has elements of friendship and rejection woven through it. With a musical score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the Russian opera follows the highs and lows of a sophisticated yet selfish man who lives to regret his rejection of a young woman’s love.

Tickets for the shows start at Dh350.
