Dancers from the Opera de Paris, the primary opera company of France, are coming back to the UAE, to Dubai, and for the first time, to Abu Dhabi.

Star Dancer Dorothee Gilbert and First Soloists Hugo Marchand and Hannah O’Neill will perform at the Emirates Palace Auditorium (January 5) and Madinat Jumeirah Theatre (January 6 and 7) along with 10 other dancers from Paris Opera, including Paul Marque, the 2016 gold medal winner of the prestigious Varna International Ballet Competition.

Now in its fourth year, the performances, organised by the Ballet Grand Gala and the Dubai Dance Academy’s founder Reiko M Cheong, will give ballet fans an evening of classic repertoire including Romeo et Juliette by Rudolf Noureev, La Sylphide et Le Corsaire, Flames of Paris as well as neoclassical creations such as Donizetti, by Manuel Legris, and Thais, choreographed by Opera de Paris ballet master Laurent Novis.
