Berlin: Stuttgart have signed Tayfun Korkut as their new manager, the struggling Bundesliga club announced.

The 43-year-old has been named as Hannes Wolf’s successor and has put pen to paper on a deal that will last till the summer of 2019.

Stuttgart sacked Wolf after the side lost 2-0 to Schalke to suffer their sixth defeat in the last seven Bundesliga encounters. Stuttgart slipped to the 14th position with a four-point gap to a direct relegation spot.

Korkut knows the Bundesliga business as he already stood at the sidelines of Hannover (2013-15) and Bayer Leverkusen (2017).

“I want to do my part to make the fans say after the game: that was Stuttgart how we want to see it. I am convinced that we will reach our goals this season,” Korkut said.
