Victoria’s Bailey to officiate at Dubai World Cup

Dubai: The Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) on Wednesday announced that Racing Victoria’s Chairman of Stewards Terry Bailey will officiate at the 20th Dubai World Cup meeting, the richest day in world racing, at Meydan Racecourse on March 28.

Bailey, one of the most respected and experienced Stipendiary Stewards in Australia, recently officiated at the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club Longines International Jockeys’ Championship and Longines Hong Kong International Race meetings.

The ERA and Racing Victoria (RV) have developed a strong, ongoing relationship in recent years in the racing integrity department.

RV has provided a seasonal steward to the existing ERA Steward’s Panel for the past five racing seasons. The seasonal steward compliments the ERA Steward’s Panel and officiates at all race meetings held in the UAE in a racing season.

ERA Board Member Malih Al Basti said: “Mr. Bailey’s vast experience and wealth of stewarding knowledge will complement our Stewards Panel and he will sit as an officiating steward under the chairmanship of ERA Chief Steward Mr. John Zucal. The ERA welcomes such a stewards’ exchange.”
