Tennis Emirates hosted more than 70 young female players from affiliated tennis academies across the UAE during their Coaching Clinic at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Tuesday.

The girls, ranging in age from under eight to under 16, participated in a clinic run by Tennis Emirates staff and Academy coaches. They were joined by the Japanese doubles team of Miyu Kato and Makoto Ninomiya, who helped the participants fine-tune their skills during the morning session.

“I’ve been playing tennis for nine years, and it’s been the best years. My dream is to be a professional tennis player, and play in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships,” said Shaikha Al Janahi, one of the participants. “It was great to see the doubles players today, it was pretty cool to meet them and play with them.”

Carlos Luna, director of events at Tennis Emirates, added: “It’s great to have the children here today, they are all active tennis players and they love seeing professional players in action that they can aspire to, and this afternoon they will see some of the world’s best on Centre Court.”

Tennis Emirates will host a number of young male tennis players during the ATP tournament, which commences on February 26.
