1. Don’t move around
Please stay seated during play and don’t move around until there is a player changeover — when the players switch ends or between sets.
2. No phone calls
Put your phone on silent and do not take or make a call while you are in the grandstand. If it’s urgent, wait for a break in play, a changeover or end of the set, then leave quickly and quietly.
3. Can’t find your seat? Sit somewhere else
If you do have to leave and can’t get back to your original seat without disturbing everyone in the area then please sit in another seat until there’s a longer break between sets.
4. Watching with kids
If you bring children please sit near an exit in case they become noisy and you need to make a quick exit. Kids are welcome but they do have short attention spans so be realistic about how long they can sit still and stay quiet.
5. Alternatives for restless kids
Don’t forget that if they get restless you can still watch the game on the big screens in the village.
6. Make room
Don’t block seats or leave empty singles between you and the next person if it is busy; be considerate and think of others and make room for everyone to enjoy the game.
7. Respect the players
Please be quiet while the players are serving and during the points. However, if there was an amazing shot feel free to cheer, then please be quiet again.
8. Don’t be afraid to cheer
Be an enthusiastic spectator and cheer the players. It brings out the best in the players and you’ll have a better time and feel more involved in the game.
9. Don’t boo
It’s just not a nice thing to do.
10. No flash
Don’t use the flash on your phone or camera — it’s distracting and can put the player off. Better still, put your phone or camera away and just enjoy the fantastic tennis.
