Dubai: The UAE’s Fazza shooting team is taking part in a training camp in the Italian town of Lonato until August 5 as they prepare for the ISSF World Cup event in Azerbaijan next month and the World Shotgun Championships in Lonato in September.

The team will also take part in the Arab Shooting Championship in Rabat, Morocco, from September 27 to October 5 and the Asian Championship in Kuwait during from November 1 to 10.

Shaikh Juma Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Fazza Shooting Team, stressed that the team, under the guidance of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, attaches great importance to this camp and the championships.

Shaikh Juma added that the events represent a turning point not only for the team but also for shooting in the UAE as a whole, as all these championships — except for the Arab Championship in Morocco — are qualifiers for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, next year — a goal for every athlete.

He added that the UAE’s shooting heroes have come a long way in developing their skills and many of them stand an excellent chance of achieving their ambitions.
