Dubai: The second of four build-up rides for the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge will take place at District One Cycle Track in the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City on October 7 covering a distance of 45-km.

Over 400 cyclists are already registered via www.cyclechallenge.ae.

More than 500 cyclists took part in the first 35-km build-up ride at the same venue on September 2. A further two build-ups will be held at Al Qudra cycle track, with the third 65-km preparatory ride to be held on October 28 and the fourth 85km ride set for November 25.

The main 92-km event will take place at Dubai Autodrome on December 16 with over 2,500 cyclists expected to take part. This is the sixth edition of the cycle challenge since its 2010 inception.

A spokesperson for the event said: “The cycle season gets bigger and better each year and thanks must go to the Dubai Sports Council for their continued support in making each event a success. We are looking forward to welcoming all cyclists at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City — District One Cycle Track as the hard work continues in preparation for the 92km challenge.”
