It has to be recalled that Hajhmdou had won gold in California last year and was the winner of the Children’s Cup here. This time he defeated Mohammad Ali Al Messabi of Al Ruwad School.

“I’m extremely delighted with my performance. I wanted to continue my fine run and I’m happy to do that for my school. The final was a bit tough, but that was expected,” said an elated Hajhmdou.

Despite losing his final bout, Al Messabi was pleased with his effort. “This was my second meeting with Hajhmdou and I had lost to him in the first encounter as well, but this time I feel I fought better. He is in the national team and was always the favourite.”
