Dubai: Jumeirah Golf Estates on Tuesday announced it had become an official partner to The European Tour, becoming the first golf and property development to join the Tour’s elite list of global partners.

As host venue to the DP World Tour Championship — the annual climactic event of The Race to Dubai’s Final Series — since 2009, and the first member of the European Tour Properties network in the Middle East, Jumeirah Golf Estates has had a long relationship with the European Tour.

The new agreement will see the venue — located between the Green Community and Dubai Sports City — promoted through the tour’s multi-platform network, including year-round presence on europeantour.com, extensive TV exposure and official partner presence at multiple European Tour tournaments internationally.

Yousuf Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of Jumeirah Golf Estates, said: “Jumeirah Golf Estates is already a thriving community of families and international visitors and attracts the world’s attention every year during the staging of the enthralling DP World Tour Championship.

“As we continue to enhance Jumeirah Golf Estates’ superior offering, our exalted partnership with the European Tour is a milestone development that cements our status as a world-class residential golf community, and a major stakeholder in international golf.”

David Williams, Chairman of The European Tour, added: “As the host venue of our DP World Tour Championship, Jumeirah Golf Estates is a world-class development that enables the European Tour to fulfil its mission of bringing elite golf to the world stage.

“Today’s announcement that Jumeirah Golf Estates has become an official partner to The European Tour further strengthens our already established relationship, and we look forward to many more thrilling conclusions to The Race to Dubai at this outstanding venue.”

Neal Graham, General Manager, Club Operations at Jumeirah Golf Estates, said: “Having hosted six editions of the DP World Tour Championship, we have developed a strong and valued relationship with the European Tour. We see our new improved partnership as an important natural progression and provides us with new opportunities to promote all that Jumeirah Golf Estates has to offer on a worldwide stage.”
