Dubai: Fans of extreme action outdoor sports can participate in an array of events and activities during the course of the Middle East Extreme Sports Expo to be held at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) from December 3-5.

Held under the umbrella of the 2015 FAI World Air Games (WAG), which is under way at Skydive Dubai, the annual exhibition — now in its second year — has attracted 70 exhibitors dealing with extreme sports from 15 countries across the world.

Visitors at the Middle East Extreme Sports Expo can try any of the seven action sport simulators installed at the DIMC or make the 15-metre dive jump from a specially set-up crane at the venue. In addition, Flike Tricopter will launch a first of its kind human piloted drone that is similar to technology used both in comic character ‘Jetman’ and by Swiss Yvess Rossy — who too is known as ‘Jetman’ — for being the first person to fly using jet engine-powered wings.

“All activities during the three days will be free of cost,” Zarir Saifuddin, Founder, Middle East Extreme Sports Expo told Gulf News.

“All over the world, extreme action outdoor sports are niche, but in Dubai they are mainstream as such sports are part of our Emirati tradition and history that includes pearl diving and hunting,” he added.

The exhibition will be open from December 3-5, from 3 pm to 10 pm.
