Ajman: The Board of Directors for the Abdul Aziz Bin Humaid Leadership Programme (ALP) has laid down the selection criteria to choose its third batch of students.

The third edition of the ALP will be held over a six-month period encompassing 180 direct learning hours starting on October 11 till the end of March 2016.

The ALP seeks to empower talented young people of the GCC region with the knowledge and skills they require to take responsibility, drive leadership and lead teams at every level across public and private sectors.

The third edition has received an overwhelming response from candidates of other Gulf countries, particularly from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain. With the final date for applying already passed, the Board of Directors will now start screening candidates by visiting all GCC countries for interviews.

Candidates who have applied for the programme will have to undergo compulsory psychometric testing along with a host of interviews before being selected for the course. The selection interviews will be conducted until August, while the psychometric testing will follow in September.

Sponsored by Ajman Holding, candidates seeking entry for the third edition will need to be aged between 25 to 35 with a minimum of two years’ work experience and TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS of 5 and above. The final list of candidates will be announced on October 1.

“A lot of things have changed since the past two editions of this programme. The interviews will ascertain the capacity and capability of each of the candidates in communicating at an individual level and also relating as a team player,” noted Shaikha Al Nuaimi, Relations Manager of ALP.

“Ultimately, we would be looking to select the 20 best candidates who will be willing to challenge themselves and achieve the goals laid down by the programme,” she added.
