Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank edged out Etihad Airways to leave Group D wide open in the Ace-Pan Global Group Ramadan Twenty20 Cup.

The result took ADCB’s tally to six points from four games. However, they have to wait for the outcome of the final game between Etihad (4) and the undefeated Health Authority Abu Dhabi (6) to discover if they qualify from the group.

Shivank Vijaykumar (42) and Jamshaid Butt (38) shared a 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket to guide ADCB to a three-wicket win, with four balls to spare, at the Zayed stadium.

UAE U19 international Vijaykumar played the dominant role in the partnership and his 30-ball innings was studded with three fours and a six.

Butt, who played the sheet anchor role, fell soon after Vijaykumar departed, leaving the eighth wicket pair to complete the job. Ayaz Butt, the No.8 batter, hit 16 not out from 10 balls and Asim Abbasi (8 off 8) took his team over the line after two tense overs.

Meanwhile, Zeeshan Khan hit a swashbuckling 101 not out for Multiplex to help them score a resounding 97-run win over the bottom placed team Hexa Oil and Gas.

Khan arrived at the crease after opener Balwinder Singh had been dismissed for a first-ball duck. Khan steadied the innings, taking the score along to 180 for three. His 62-ball knock was highlighted by 11 fours and three sixes.

United Bank Limited topped Group A after a clinical six-wicket demolition of Abu Dhabi Airport Company (Adac).

Tawasaf Ali took his second successive four-wicket haul to send Adac crashing to 78 all out and UBL knocked off the winning runs with over 11 overs to spare.
