Dubai: Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club has announced a new sponsorship agreement with Dubai-based property developer Nakheel.

Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, the chairman of the higher committee for the merger of Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and Ali Rashid Lootah, chairman of Nakheel signed the agreement at Nakheel’s headquarters on Monday.

The deal follows similar agreements with Dubai-based real estate development firms Emaar and Azizi Developments, which were signed last week.

Sulaiman said: “The sports movement in the UAE is blessed to have globally-renowned organisations like Nakheel on board, as shown by the developer’s support for Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club. The sponsorship reflects our aspirations to achieve the government’s pioneering vision towards the club’s self-sufficiency and its continued enhancement of the UAE’s sporting goals with more regional and international achievements.”

Lootah added: “Nakheel is committed to social responsibility among a wide range of sectors and activities in the UAE, including sport. Our sponsorship recognises the key role played by local institutions and companies in supporting the community in its drive to greater prosperity and well-being.

“The strategic partnership between Nakheel and Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club reflects our commitment to enhancing our presence in the community by promoting sports, health and fitness in the UAE, and to recognising the talented young sportsmen and women who act as role models to future sporting greats across the country.

“Nakheel has a long history of sports sponsorship in the UAE and is delighted to support the newly-formed Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club in its national, regional and global participation. We will watch with pride as the club clocks up more titles and achievements this season.”
