Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the allocation of a plane for the UAE national football team’s crucial away qualifier against Saudi Arabia on October 11.

After two matches, the UAE have three points — thanks to an opening 2-1 win against Japan in Saitama — followed by a narrow 0-1 loss against Australia.

The UAE, popularly known as The Whites, will meet Thailand in Abu Dhabi on October 6 and then travel to face Group B leaders Saudi Arabia on October 11.

The gesture is part of Shaikh Mohammad’s continuous support to the national team in their campaign to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup to be held in Russia.
