Dubai: Argentina legend Diego Maradona has said the UAE players should have watched Australia’s last World Cup qualifier against Iraq, in which Australia scored an identical goal to the two they scored against the UAE in the World Cup 2018 qualifier on Tuesday. All were near-post free headers from corners.
“Did the UAE players not watch the match between Australia and Iraq, where the Australians equalised in the same way they scored against the UAE?” questioned the 1986 World Cup winner.
“It’s very important for players to see their opponents’ matches, it’s not just up to the coach to explain, they must live with their hearts and minds in the game.”
