Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City have announced their City Football Schools for youngsters will be returning to the capital this season.

Based at Zayed Sports City and New York University, the club says the scheme follows the philosophy of their first team.

The initiative is open to boys and girls aged between three and 16 and is under the supervision of fully qualified City Football coaches.

City captain Vincent Kompany explained the importance of nurturing young talent by saying: “Here in Manchester you can see from the City Football Academy alone just how crucial an emphasis the club places on young footballers and it is great to see that the club places a similar emphasis on youth in Abu Dhabi. The City Football Schools do an outstanding job of encouraging passionate youngsters to play football.”

The new City Football Schools season begins on August 30 and runs for 36 weeks in four terms, which last for eight and 10 weeks.
