Abu Dhabi: Former Liverpool and Ajax forward Ryan Babel’s agent Winnie Haatrecht has revealed that the former is set to make his move to the Arabian Gulf League Champions Al Ain on a two-year-deal.

Al Ain, however, are yet to make any official announcement and sources inside the club refrained from confirming the move. “We have signed a contract for two years. Ryan is now on vacation and in the beginning of July, the medical test will take place. From the contract, it speaks how much he is appreciated,” Haatrecht was quoted in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Babel began his career at Ajax in 1998, working his way up through the youth team and into the senior squad. He played three seasons for the first team before he was transferred to Liverpool in 2007. However, under three successive managers, he failed to secure a regular first team position.

Babel also played for the Dutch national football team from 2005 at all youth team levels and appeared in two World Cups, 2006 and 2010, reaching the final of the latter.
