Dubai: Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, managing director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received Marwan Bin Ghalaita, Chairman of Al Nasr Football Club at his office on Monday to celebrate the club’s recent President’s Cup win.

Also present were Al Nasr board members, Abdullah Bu Amim, the club CEO, Humaid Bin Ahmad Al Tayer, first team supervisor and Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi, chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.

“I heartily congratulate Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Al Nasr Club, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group and Vice Chairman of Al Nasr Club and Shaikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of Al Nasr Club for winning the 2015 President’s Cup,” said Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer.

“In line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to encourage sport and athletes, DEWA dedicates a great deal of its activities to serve social issues including cultural and sports activities. We always communicate with government and private organisations and non-profit organisations to build bridges of cooperation with all society. This is part of DEWA’s corporate social responsibility strategy and its efforts to support youth creativity and sporting talent and take them to global levels,” he added.

After congratulating Al Nasr club management, players and fans on their historic victory – their first in this competition since 1989 - Al Tayer and Bin Ghalaita cut a cake decorated with the club’s logo.
