Dubai: Al Jazira were held to a 1-1 draw away to Iran’s Tractor Sazi in their fourth Asian Champions League (ACL) group game on Tuesday.

Romarinho’s 44th minute opener was cancelled out by Farzad Hatami on 78 minutes to share the spoils.

With this result, Al Jazira remain second in Group A behind leaders Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia on five points from one win, two draws and a defeat, but that was subject to change with the Saudis playing at home to third-place Al Gharafa of Qatar late on Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Al Wahda beat Iran’s Zob Ahan 3-0 at home on Monday to keep their hopes of progression alive.

Sebastian Taglibue opened the scoring from Balazs Dzsudzsak’s free kick on 46 minutes before Mourad Batna added another on 57 minutes and assisted for the third by Mohammad Al Akbari on 65 minutes.

It was the Clarets first win in Group B where they are still bottom of the table on three points with two games remaining, having lost all of their earlier three games.

They play Uzbekistan’s Lokomotiv Tashkent —who are third on three points — at home on April 3 and Qatar’s Al Duhail — who lead the group on 12 points and are already through — away on April 17. Despite this loss Zob Ahan are still second on six points. Al Ain also recorded their fourth successive draw 1-1 away to Iran’s Esteghlal on Monday.

Tsukasa Shiotani cancelled out Mame Thiam’s 42nd minute penalty on 78 minutes. This leaves Al Ain third in Group D on four points with two games remaining, two points behind both Esteghlal and Qatar’s Al Rayyan and two points clear of bottom-placed Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
