Dubai: The top-seeded pairing of Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor will meet the Indo-Pakistan duo of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq in the doubles quarterfinals of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships late on Tuesday.

Entered as the only wild cards in the doubles, the Indo-Pak pair defeated Igor Andreev and Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-5, 6-4 to set a meeting with the tournament's top seeds.

Former doubles champion Leander Paes, who had teamed up with Paul Hanley of Australia, went down in straight sets 1-6, 3-6 against second seeds Simon Aspelin and Julian Knowle in another late night match on Tuesday.

Comfortable win

Also moving into the last eight stages was the third-seeded pairing of Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner with a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 win over the UAE's Mahmoud Nader and Hamad Abbas Al Janahi.

Mahesh Bhupathi of India and Mark Knowles of the Bahamas, seeded fourth in this year's championship, were scheduled to play later last night against Jordan Kerr and Rogier Wassen.
