Abu Dhabi: The tournament buzz continued at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship on Friday with plenty of action from the young stars of the three-day event.

Day two kicked off with an inter-emirate showdown as winners of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Mubadala Community Cup competitions battled it out.

Nancy Fawzi, winner of the Under 16s event, said: “I really like the idea of playing against people from other emirates. It gives us a chance to explore our capabilities with different people allowing us to compete against each other. My opponent was great; she has great playing skills and I definitely consider her a great competitor.”

Mubadala Community Cup winners attended tennis clinics led by the stars. On this occasion, it was the turn of the Under-10s and Under-12s for their chance to pick up some tips from world number one Rafael Nadal.

Swiss ace Stanislas Wawrinka also shared his knowledge with winners of the adult age category.

The Tennis Village was full of star sightings as Andy Murray and David Ferrer got the crowds going with autograph-signing sessions before their matches. Former Wimbledon champion and Mubadala World Tennis Championship ambassador Pat Cash took time to answer questions from sports fans in the Tennis Village, sharing his predictions for the matches ahead.
