Dubai: Former World No.2 Petra Kvitova knocked out defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 6-4 to advance to a semi-final meeting against another former champion Caroline Wozniacki at the Dubai Duty Free Women’s Open here late on Thursday.

Kvitova, who last lost to Radwanska in the round robin of the year-end WTA Championships in Istanbul in 2012, improved her record against the Pole to 4-1 with Thursday’s win.
The lanky Czech girl will now play 2011 Dubai champion Wozniacki in Friday’s semi-finals after the former world number one from Denmark fought with her back against the wall before carving out a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 against Bartoli.
On Friday, play will commence on centre court at 2 pm with the doubles featuring Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands versus Cara Black and Anastasia Rodionova followed by the singles semi-final between Errani and Roberta Vinci.
