Eric Gottschalk eased into the quarterfinals of the men's super singles category of the sixth Dubai Shopping Festival Open tennis championship with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Firas Waharba.

Fellow seeded players Fransua Rachmann and Neil Bullilan also beat their first round opponents in straight sets.

In the men's singles, Stephan Muller ousted fourth seed Hamad Abbas 6-1, 7-6, while second seed Ali Sharif cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Navin Ramsourrun.

Adil Toubia advanced in the men's over-35 with a 6-1, 6-3 win against Jerry Kane, while Mark Coombes made light work of Mahesh Vidani 6-1, 6-1 to enter the quarters.

The men's doubles saw Rachmann and Craig Wilkinson go past Justin Franco and Phillip Anders 6-3, 6-3, while Olivier de Schepper and Igor breezed past Arjun Verma and Jawad Choodmary 6-0, 6-2.

In the ladies singles, Ingrid Clulow battled past Vivien Masseboeuf 6-4, 6-2, while Ritu Bhargava showed Pramila Nair the door with a 6-2, 6-2 win.
