Field of 13 to contest Nations Cup tennis tournament
Thirteen teams have confirmed for the 19th Nations Cup Tennis Championship at Al Nasr Leisureland, starting today.
Dubai: Thirteen teams have confirmed for the 19th Nations Cup Tennis Championship at Al Nasr Leisureland, starting today.
There are eight teams in the men's event and the remaining five teams will vie for the women's crown.
The men's cup features Australia, Holland, Belgium, Lebanon, India, Philippines and two teams from the UAE. The women's contest has the UK, India, the Philippines, the UAE and Syria.
Games will get under way with defending champions UK taking on UAE, while Syria will face the Philippines in the second match.
After a rest day, the men's competition will restart with Australia taking on Holland. In the women's competition, India will play Syria while the Philippines will face the UAE.
While the women's competition will follow a round-robin format, the men's semifinalists will be known on Thursday. The final will be played on February 2.
