Degioanni smashes her way into ITF Dubai Seniors final

Anne Degioanni of France effortlessly made her entry into the singles final in the over-35 years category, while Austria's David Krizek sealed his final spot in the men's over-35 at the ITF Dubai Seniors Tennis Championships.

Dubai: Anne Degioanni of France effortlessly made her entry into the singles final in the over-35 years category, while Austria's David Krizek sealed his final spot in the men's over-35 at the ITF Dubai Seniors Tennis Championships.

Degioanni, who is currently ranked 18 on the ITF circuit in the women's over-35 category, has cruised through her matches to seal her rightful place in today's final.

In her last round, the Frenchwoman got the better of S. Gomez 6-0, 6-1 to ensure her spot in the final. Krizek, who is ranked 25, has been on fine form winning all his matches so far to set up a deciding clash against H Moseley of Britain.

Also victorious was locally based Frenchman Yvan Jacqueline with a 6-1, 6-1 win against P. Anders in the men's over-35 section, while Y. Shah was a 6-2, 6-1 winner against B Charlton in the men's over-45.

The finals in various age categories will be held from 10am today at the Aviation Club.

The prize presentation will be conducted by representatives from Tennis Emirates and Alan Mills, the former Wimbledon referee.
