Young Barrelhouse Yobs ready for the big league
Score three consecutive victories to top Gulf Men's Group B
Dubai: A young Barrelhouse Yobs outfit is surprising all, following three consecutive wins taking them to the top of Gulf Men's Group B at the Dubai Rugby Sevens.
Having only played in the Gulf Men's Social in three years previous to this, they've managed to see off Dubai Frogs (28-10), Dubai Hurricanes (12-10) and Dubai Dragons II (35-7) in their inaugural year among the big boys.
Coach Rob McLoughlin said of the team's task to go the distance amid what is a short intense three-day tournament.
"We've rested a couple of guys with the view to bringing them back in for the quarters. We are aware of the physicality and want to protect this young side ahead of big games tomorrow [today]."
They are one of only three teams heading into the latter stages of the competition with a 100 per cent (nine points) record in tact - the other two being Abu Dhabi Harlequins I and Dubai Exiles I.
