Canberra : Australia begins its test rugby season today against Fiji, a team that could be considered half-century easy-beats by the Wallabies if their opposition weren't so unpredictable.

Australia has lost only two of 18 tests against Fiji, most recently in 1954, but with a strong tradition in Sevens rugby and with a lineup containing some of the game's most entertaining attackers, the Pacific islanders are never an easy proposition.

The match will feature a first: prop Campese Ma'afu is likely to pack down against his older brother Salesi. Campese was named among six new caps in the Fiji lineup, while Salesi is expected to make his test debut for Australia.

It would complete a rare international treble for the Ma'afu family, as his youngest brother, Apakuka, has played sevens rugby for Tonga.

The Australian Rugby Union said it will be the first time siblings have made their test debuts on opposing teams.

France-based winger Rupeni Caucaunibuca will play out of position at centre in his first test for Fiji since 2006. The selection of Agen's Caucaunibuca rescinds his vow last year never to play again for Fiji because he says it brings him "bad luck".

However the 31 years old is confident Fiji can beat Australia, which won the last head-to-head 55-12 at the 2007 World Cup.
