Dubai: The Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) and the IRB recently requested UAE Rugby to compile and present a list of suitably qualified lawyers who can be called on as Judicial Officers to manage rugby disciplinary issues as and when required.

Ian Bremner, UAE Rugby's CEO stated that this is an important step in the overall governance of the game in the territory, and one that lifts the status of game management to a more elite level.

"The UAE Rugby Association remains committed to ensuring competitions are managed in an equitable and professional manner. Hence if a disciplinary situation arises it is essential to have support and guidance of qualified legal professionals.

"This will provide a strong platform for our responsibilities in the governance of the game in this specific area," Bremner said.

"We are therefore calling on interested persons in the legal profession who have a background and genuine interest in rugby to get involved." Those interested can contact UAE Rugby by e-mailing Ian Bremner on ianbremner@uaera.ae.
