Sebastian Mouchet finished with a personal haul of 27 points as Dubai Dragons swept past Abu Dhabi 57-13 to reach the final of the Standard Chartered Arabian Gulf Cup.

Mick Zaicek's side, chasing a third successive knock-out triumph, led 22-13 at the break before a three-try burst in seven minutes early in the second period ended the Bats' stubborn resistance at the Exiles.

The win means the Dragons, back on top of the Gulf League after a solid win away to Abu Dhabi last weekend, now face the Dubai Exiles on home territory in the final on April 1.

Zaicek said : "It was another tough game but we stepped up the pace in the second half and suddenly we were away.

"Our defence was once again outstanding. I was pleased by the effort from the team."

The Dragons made an ominous start, Gulf sevens skipper Paul Austin taking a good angle to burst through at speed for the opening try after only two minutes.

But the Bats soon replied with a quality try of their own, Ross Millar's brilliant long run ending in a touchdown for Stephan Spohr.

Jamie Turner's intelligent pass out of the tackle gave fly-half Mouchet the easiest of run-ins for the Dragons' second try before Juan Allendez closed the gap to 14-10 with a penalty.

Zaicek muscled over from close range to extend the lead to 19-10 before Allendez clawed back three points with a second kick, although that was cancelled out by a superb 40-metre strike from Mouchet just before the break.
