Johannesburg: Ireland have changed five of the team that shocked South Africa last weekend for the potentially decisive second Test at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

South Africa-born flanker CJ Stander is serving a one-match ban after being red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Springbok fly-half Patrick Lambie and his place goes to Rhys Ruddock.

Centre Luke Marshall, winger Keith Earls, prop Mike Ross and flanker Jordi Murphy have been left out by coach Joe Schmidt with none even making the substitutes’ bench.

They are replaced by Stuart Olding, Craig Gilroy, Tadhg Furlong and Quinton Roux, another member of the Irish squad born in South Africa.

There is one positional change to the side that started the 26-20 first Test triumph in Cape Town last Saturday with Iain Henderson moving from lock to loose forward.

Roux is the only new cap in a team that will clinch the three-Test series with a match to spare if they win in Johannesburg.

The final Test is in Port Elizabeth on June 25.
