Dubai: UAE Rugby on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Fiji Rugby Union, which will see Fiji Rugby help the country develop the game, with a particular focus on the sevens format.
The MoU was entered into after discussions between UAE Rugby Federation’s Qais Al Dhalai with Robin Nair, Fiji Ambassador to the UAE, Ratu Isikeli Tasere, President of the Fiji Rugby Union, and Aliki Salusalu, Fiji Counsellor to the UAE.
“We are very excited to take this step forward with Fiji Rugby,” said Mohammad Falaknaz, UAE RF Chairman. “We are especially excited with the opportunity to enhance the development of our sevens players and we thank Mr Nair, Mr Tasere and Mr Filimone Waqabaca [Fiji Rugby Union Chairman] for their commitment to this agreement.”
