Emirates to sponsor Scotland finale
Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, yesterday announced it will be title sponsor of the Scotland finale to the IRB Sevens Series, which will be played next summer.
Dubai: Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, yesterday announced it will be title sponsor of the Scotland finale to the IRB Sevens Series, which will be played next summer.
Edinburgh will play host to the climax of the prestigious sevens series, when the world's top seven-a-side players will travel to Murrayfield Stadium to compete from June 2-3 at the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s - 2007.
The sponsorship was announced yesterday in Scotland by Gary Chapman, Emirates' President Group Services, IRB Chairman Syd Millar and Gordon Mckie, Chief executive Scottish Rugby Union.
Andy Irvine, President of Scottish Rugby, is to be Scotland's ambassador for the two-day spectacle each June for the next five years and welcomes Emirates involvement.
"It's most encouraging to see another top international brand come on board with Scottish Rugby. Emirates has a proud record of being excellent sponsors and I'm sure its association with Scottish Rugby will be a very positive one."
