Dubai: Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, lauded Emirates Airline's efforts for "turning Dubai into an ideal location to showcase events" like the upcoming IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens.

The tournament will be held between March 5 and 7 at The Sevens.

Princess Haya, who conducted the 16-team women's tournament draw, in the presence of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of the Emirates Airline and Group, said Dubai had become one of the world's top sporting destinations.

Speaking at a press briefing ahead of yesterday's draw at The Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah, Princess Haya said: "Rugby has joined a star-studded cast of events hosted by Dubai, which is turning into an ideal destination for such showcase events.

"Individual efforts make these things possible and Shaikh Ahmad and his team at Emirates Airlines have paved the way for this and made these things possible."
