Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) will organise 'Marine Festival' at the capital's corniche.
The event, scheduled for December 1-5 will coincide with the UAE's celebrations of the National Day and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the World Championship of the Formula 1 Powerboats.
The festival will be held under the patronage of Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the President of the ADIMSC, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and will be sponsored by First Gulf Bank, as was disclosed in a press conference yesterday at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
"We are pleased to announce that the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival will include many activities featuring sports, social and cultural events," Ahmad Al Rumaithi, the member of the ADIMSC executive board, told the conference.
He added: "The first two days of the festival will feature competitions for the youngsters, including the Kayak Boats race and Iron Student competition, which will have 400 students competing in four categories for under 12, 14, 16 and 17 and above."
