Dubai: Call him a chip of the old block, but he has his story to tell and his own destiny to fulfil.

The name is Jett Cash, the youngest son of Australian tennis legend Pat Cash. "I don't really know if anything works in my favour if I am the son of a great tennis player," Jett told Gulf News at the Aviation Club Tuesday where he is participating in the qualifying round of the 9th Dubai ITF Juniors Tennis Championships.

Pat Cash, in fact, shot into tennis fame as a junior player in the early 1980s when he was ranked top junior player in the world in 1981. In 1982, he won the junior titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, after which he turned professional. His greatest triumph was in 1987 when he won the Wimbledon crown, en route beating Mats Wilander, Jimmy Conners and then Ivan Lendl in the final.

"What he has achieved is his and I feel no pressure," Jett said.

"In fact, being a son of a father like him [Pat Cash] takes away the pressure from me," the younger Cash said.

"He may be among the greatest tennis players, but ultimately, he is my dad," he quipped.
