Dubai: The UAE's Karim Al Azhari and Musaed Al Murar will help create a new chapter of regional motor racing history when the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East headlines for the first time at Qatar's Losail International Circuit this weekend.

The debut of the series in Qatar and the first night-time race programme since it was launched three years ago will see an impressive 18 GT3 Cup cars on the starting grid for the first time in the Middle East. Al Azhari will be aiming to build on his impressive fourth place in his series debut in Saudi Arabia earlier this month with Dubai's Al Nabooda Racing. For Al Murar, it will be a welcome return to Porsche GT3 Cup racing after he dominated the rookies class last season before being forced onto the sidelines by work commitments.
