Drivers got back to the Kartdrome circuit at the Dubai Autodrome last weekend to compete for the third qualifying run of the Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Al Maktoum Ramadan Karting Championship.

This series, the first of its type in the UAE, is gaining in popularity and attracting spectators from all ages.

Marwan Harab, Jamie Saunier, Marc Wazen, Joe Dawaliby, Bader Al Suwaid and Haider Mohammad qualified in the adults category.

"I don't know who's going to win this championship, but I can tell you that I am determined to fight for it. Winning this Championship is my driving force. I want more. More as a driver. And as you can see all other drivers have the same vision, the same goal," said Wazen.

"We're all focused. And this is what's making this championship more exciting, challenging and, most importantly, it's unbelievable fun."

The last qualifying round will be held on Thursday while the final race will be held on the second day of Eid Al Fitr.

One of the fans at the event commented: "I'm hooked on Karting and it's only been my third week watching this sport. The last two races have been amazing. I never thought I would be into Karting. Well, it's cool and it kept me at the edge of my seat, great to watch. This is certainly top entertainment."

Prizes and trophies including cash prizes will be given to the fastest drivers of all categories.
