Abu Dhabi: The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the number one bank in the UAE and the official bank of 2011 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, welcomed famous ‘Titan the Robot' at Yas Marina Circuit yesterday. The giant robot will be entertaining race-goers throughout the entire weekend.

Titan, who travels to exciting events around the world, made his debut appearance yesterday at a Formula 1 and also, in the UAE. Having just arrived from Hong Kong, he is considered one of the world's smartest robots; he towers over the crowd at a height of 2.4 metres and weighs nearly 350 kilograms.

"The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, the official bank of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009, is determined to help make each Formula 1 event at Yas Marina Circuit more exciting and memorable for race-goers", said May Ebrahim Bu Majeed, the Deputy Head of Corporate Communication Department at NBAD.

Exhilarating ideas

"Each year the Bank develops original and exhilarating ideas for entertainment and education. This year, in addition to the fun-filled and informative activities taking place at the NBAD display site in the F1 Village, Titan the Robot will amuse and entertain people throughout the Oasis entertainment areas."

This is the third year in a row that Formula 1™ returns to Yas Marina Circuit, and the third time that NBAD is the official bank of the event.

Bu Majeed continued, "F1 is one of the most anticipated events of the year in Abu Dhabi's sporting calendar.
