Abu Dhabi: A disappointing performance at the seventh round of the Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup in Germany last weekend left Team Abu Dhabi with little choice but to look ahead to next weekend's race in Hungary.

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority-backed outfit remained sixth out of nine teams overall with 75 points in the constructors championship after drivers Sascha Maassen, Sean Edwards and Khalid Al Qubaisi could only muster 12th, 19th and 21st place respectively as the wind and rain got the better of them at Hockenheim.

Maassen's display was most promising, with the German clinching vital points to keep the team in contention, after an impressive performance saw him climb six places in the 14-lap race from 18th to 12th.

But Edwards of Great Britain, who is in debut full season with the team, failed to capitalise on the strong qualifying session after a burst tyre in the opening lap sent him spinning.

Similarly, a mid-race collision dashed all of Al Qubaisi's chances of a second consecutive scoring finish, after the Emirati did so well to notch a point despite crashing at Silverstone earlier in the month.

Maassen, Edwards and Al Qubaisi now sit 11, 12 and 21st in the driver's championship on 38, 37 and 3 points respectively.

All eyes are now on this Saturday's race in Hungary at the Hungaroring in Budapest.
