Abu Dhabi: The Snickers-Hyundai Racing Team began their 2012 racing season in good form when Saudi driver Hatim Natto finished second and created a milestone in the Drift UAE championship at the northern track of Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

"This is the first Saudi achievement of its kind in the first Formula D championship in the region," said team manager Mohammad Al Sofiani, who was delighted by Natto's achievement and the good team performance.

Emirati driver Yousuf Al Nuaimi came in first, while another Saudi, Abdul Hadi Qahtani, finished third.

Natto, who drove a 300hp four-cylinder turbo-charged Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2011, was elated.

"Finishing second in such fierce competition in our very first participation this year is very promising," he said.

"We hope to post prime positions in the coming championships, including the Drift Gulf Challenge," he said.
