Dubai: Friday witnessed what could possibly be described as the noisiest and most surprising mornings Dubai has ever awakened to.
At 0730hrs, Red Bull Racing’s Formula One car roared along Shaikh Zayed Road, up to the gates of Emirates Towers, reaching speeds of more than 297 kph.
Shaikh Zayed Road’s residents rubbed their eyes at the unexpected sight of the Formula One car and traffic came to halt as driver, Neel Jani, took the Red Bull car for a spin along the city’s main road.
“It was so cool being able to see Dubai's famous skyline from the car – it was a pretty unique experience”, said twenty-seven year old Jani, A1 GP champion.
“I could see Burj Khalifa and Emirates Towers and feel really lucky that I was the one who was able to complete the run here; thanks to Red Bull for giving me such an overwhelming opportunity.”
