Motorsport festival set to entertain fans
Event promises action-packed weekend of celebration with variety of activities
Dubai: The 2009 Dubai Motorsport Festival will retain the successful local flavour of last year and will again be a celebration of UAE motorsport.
Two days of action-packed racing and off-track entertainment is on the cards for race fans and a superb opportunity for corporate entertainment. "Support National Motorsport" is again the buzz phrase for local motorsport as the show gets better and better.
On the bill during the course of the weekend will be:
• UAE Touring Car Championship featuring the best "tin top" drivers in the region in a massive and impressive field. Doing battle will be Nissan, Honda, Seat, BMW, VW GTi and Renault in the hands of top drivers all focused on winning.
• UAE GT Championship, the newly launched series for exotic supercars such as Porsche, Dodge Viper, Aston Martin, Mitsubishi to name but a few. A mini-enduro style race featuring top drivers from the UAE and the region.
• UAE Sportbike Championship which features the region's top riders in one of the most spectacular forms of racing to be seen anywhere.
This year fans will see the awesome 1000cc top-of-the-range motorcycles doing battle along with the ultra-nimble 600cc Stock motorcycles. All the top manufacturers including Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Aprilia, Trimph and Ducati.
• GulfSport Radical Cup for sleek, ultra-fast Le Mans style machines provide a thrilling spectacle of speed and racing. A mix of experienced campaigners and young top guns.
Off-track activities will provide many of the highlights of the festival.
