Manama: Lewis Hamilton stayed on pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix after being reprimanded for reversing in the pit lane after Saturday qualifying, stewards at the Sakhir track announced.

The world champion was summoned to the stewards after he reversed his Mercedes in the pit lane - such a move is banned under the regulations.

But just 15 minutes after being called in to explain himself, the three-time world champion received just a reprimand rather than having his pole position stripped.
