London: British race car driver Lewis Hamilton said he would like to complete this year's Formula 1 season with victories in the two final races.

The former F1 champion felt his McLaren-Mercedes team could head to the Abu Dhabi and Brazilian events confident about their chances of victories.

"Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel may have clinched both championships, but I am still determined to end the season on a winning high," said Hamilton.

"I have won two Grands Prix this year, and I would love to double that by the end of the year! It would also be a great reward for everybody at McLaren Mercedes."

Strengths

Vettel has won in Abu Dhabi on the last two occasions and he is the reigning Brazilian Grand Prix champion. Hamilton felt the long straights and low-speed corners of the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi should play to the strengths of McLaren.

"I think we have got every reason to be confident for Abu Dhabi," he said. "This circuit should really suit the characteristics of our car — we should be able to capitalise on the layout to maximise the benefit of DRS and KERS, both of which are very strong on our car."

Vettel has already sewn up the World championship, leading with an unassailable 374 points, and his team Red Bull have taken the constructors' championship, leading with an unbeatable 595.

Hamilton is fifth in the drivers' championship on 202 points with teammate Jenson Button second on 240, Fernando Alonso third on 227, and Mark Webber fourth on 221.
